Is the name Sunday school outdated in modern churches?

If you have the same question, then I’m glad you stopped by this blog. Interestingly, some churches have opted out of the name “Sunday school” and replaced it with “children’s ministry.” Or something more captivating such as Route 66 or Kidmin. So, why change the name if the ministry concept is still the same as before?

It may have something to do with making things appealing for the children so, parents can encourage them to attend church. Some reluctant kids may hide under the covers when they hear the words “Sunday school”. I mean kids already attend 5 days of regular school a week and any more might be dreadful or boring to them. I think I had the same thought when I was a little kid and my parents encouraged me to attend.

What’s more important is does these changes take away from the biblical teaching that has been provided in the past? If the sound truth of the biblical doctrine remains the highest priority then, it's fine. Also, with all the changes and upgrades (lights, decorations, sign-up stations, entertainment, and prizes) does it  lead to decrease teaching we may have some problems to address.

Previously children had ministry catered to them on Sundays but, as times have changed more time is spent towards them with weekday and Saturday services added. If parents are willing to bring them to these services, then it's awesome to have more time to fellowship with God.

John 3: 16 resources for Sunday school

John 3:16 is one of the most famous memory verses. And one of my favorite bible scriptures ever. The first reason is that John 3:16 explains the entire bible in a simple and effective way. Secondly, when the scripture is broken down into its core components. It makes a great bible lesson that can be taught to a new Christian and be revised for a current believer. Lastly, John 3:16 is the simplest way to explain
God's love and Jesus' purpose to a non-believer.

Here are some resources linked to our YouTube channels that can elevate your lessons. TO THE NEXT LEVEL!!

What fills my heart?

Valentine's day is just around the corner here is a worksheet to complete with your students.  It's called "What fills my heart" it's a activity to think about what's in our heart.

Instructions are simple:

Direction: Have the students fill sections of the heart with things, people, quotes, places they love.   It could be done by drawing pictures or just use words in block letters for a unique effect.  There’re 2 heart  options to choose from  first one is with suggestions written on the sections of the heart, and the second one is left blank.

Have fun with it, fill it with colour and show others the beautiful things they treasure.

Always here to make Sunday school easy

God bless,
Roselean
